Footswitch toppers are small accessories that fit over the top of your guitar pedal’s footswitch, giving it a larger surface area that’s easier to find, hit, and engage with your foot. Each Barefoot Button ships with an allen wrench and 3 set screws sized specifically for that button, so installation is simple and the fit is locked in solid.

Most stock pedal footswitches are small, low profile buttons, easy to miss mid performance, especially in low light or when you’re moving. A topper gives your foot a bigger, more confident target so you can switch sounds cleanly without looking down or breaking your focus.

Barefoot Buttons are made from solid aircraft grade anodized aluminum with a precision machined fit, so they stay put during aggressive playing and hold up to years of use on any pedalboard.

Barefoot Buttons come in four fits based on your pedal’s switch head diameter. Find yours in 3 easy steps using our  Fit Guide →

If you already know your switch type:

  • V1 — 3PDT switches, 3/8″ (10mm) — the most common true bypass switch
  • V2 — SPST switches, 5/16″ (8.5mm)
  • Big Bore — larger 3PDT switches up to 7/16″
  • Max Bore — switches up to 1/2″ (13mm)

1. PREPARE

Use the Allen wrench and set screws included with every button.

2. INSTALL

Place the button on your swtich.

3. SECURE

Use the Allen wrench to tighten the set screws snugly to the switch.

4. PLAY

That’s it. Stomp away!

It depends on the size and color you choose. The Mini and Tallboy Mini have a 3/4″ diameter, which is small enough to leave most LEDs visible.

Color matters too. Clear Acrylic lets light pass through completely. 

If LED visibility is a priority for your FX, chose the Mini Size or the Acrylic color.

No. Barefoot Buttons are designed to protect your switches, not harm them. Each button fits over the switch head and is secured with 3 small set screws using the included allen wrench. The set screws anchor the button firmly in place without digging into or deforming the switch. No pressure points, no scratching, no permanent marks.

They’re also just as easy to remove as they are to install. Loosen the 3 set screws and the button comes right off, leaving your switch exactly as it was. Move them between pedals, swap colors, or take them off entirely with no damage, no residue, no evidence they were ever there.

You’ve spent hours researching pedals, building your signal chain, and dialing in your tone. But when you’re tap dancing across your board during a live set, tiny switches can get in the way.
